The Art To
Laugh.
What if one
day we awakened,
To find the
daylight
Had been taken?
The sun no
face did shine
upon,
Or cockerel dared
To crack the
dawn.
Supposing God just
didn’t care,
To roses beauty
With us share.
Or what if
Angels were to
hide,
To never more
Stand by our
side?
Supposing God refused
to love,
And took away
The snow white
dove.
If God his
son he had
not given,
In darkest days
We’d all be
living.
If moonbeams they
just did not
glow,
Those golden bays
They could not
show.
If God took
rainbows out of
sight,
They’d never more
Our hearts delight.
Deep down inside
we’d feel forsaken,
If swans upon
A lake were
taken.
Our hearts would
all then break
in half,
And we would
lose
The art to
laugh.
